The waltz of melodic rock albums by Swedish bands continues, because after 'Captain Black Beard' and 'Alicate', it's the turn of 'Perfect Plan' to remember their last album 'Time for a Miracle' dating from 2020 and 2021 having seen the release of the live 'Live at Sharpener's House'. 'Brace for Impact' therefore continues the path traced by previous albums with a series of melodic hard rock hits which follow each other starting with 'Surrender' (see the video above), quite classic and which is not necessarily the composition that struck me the most but which is followed by a beautiful skewer of melodic jewels offering us addictive choruses with the catchy 'If Love Walks In' and 'Can't Let You Win' (see video here), the rhythmic 'Gotta Slow Me Down' or even 'Stop the Bleed' with its rhythmic changes between verses and chorus before arriving at the first break ballad 'My Angel' to make many jealous in the profession. The second part of the album does not weaken and offers us new memorable melodies with, for example, 'Bring Me a Doctor' and its radiant choirs and with the beautiful second ballad 'Emilie' placed as the penultimate title on a rhythmic mid -tempo, the album ending with 'Walk Through Fire' with its chorus which immediately anchors itself in the head.
In summary, the Swedes of 'Perfect Plan' continue to offer us catchy melodies as if it were raining cats and dogs, and this 'Brace for Impact' adds to the melodic hard rock albums released in October 2022 and should satisfy all fans of this style... | |
