I don't know if all these artists of the seventies have given each other the word, but released at the end of November, a new box set that presents five 'ASIA' concerts from 1982 to 2010 in the two periods when the four artists 'John Wetton', 'Geoff Downes', 'Steve Howe' and 'Carl Palmer' were present, each concert occupying 2 CDs and the spotify version offering us a sample of these concerts with 24 compositions. Firstly, their debut, after the release of the first album 'ASIA' which was a worldwide success and saw them do two big tours in 1982 and 1983, occupies the first four CDs with, firstly, the gig in Buffalo, USA in 1982 and for the next two CDs, the gig in Worcester, USA in 1983. ASIA' was originally a supergroup made up of various artists from the legendary 70s bands 'Yes', 'Emerson, Lake and Palmer', 'The Buggles' and 'King Crimson'. The other CDs focus on more recent periods with the concert recorded on March 3, 2007 in Brazil, in Sao Paulo, just after the band's reformation and which offers two monuments of rock history with, 'Fanfare for the Common Man' by 'Emerson, Lake & Palmer' and 'The Court Of The Crimson King' by 'King Crimson', and then, the concert given in Tokyo on May 12, 2008 just after the release of the album 'Phoenix' but which strangely only gives a small place to this album with just 'Never Again' and finally the concert given on December 14, 2010 in London after the release of the album 'Omega' with four tracks from the latter album, 'I Believe', 'Holy War', 'Through My Veins' and 'Finger On The Trigger'. In short, it's another box set full of good surprises that retraces the history of ASIA' and that should make fans happy again and beyond, for all those who experienced the heyday of the various albums, which had the particularity of all starting with the letter 'A', from 'ASIA' to 'Aurora' via the 'Alpha', 'Astra', 'Aqua', 'Aria', and 'Arena', and which rocked the youth of quite a few fifty-somethings and sixty... | |
