2020 and 2021 had been good years for 'Lazuli' who had spoiled us with, first of all the excellent album 'Le fantastique envol de Dieter Böhm', then the post-confinement opus 'Dénudé', and the French are doing it again with a new album simply called '11 ', which as you will have understood, is already the 11th album of the group. We thus find the band at 'Dominique Léonetti' with 11 new compositions which continue the great adventure started 25 years ago now with the key to a first eponymous album of the group in 1999. Certainly, 'Lazuli' continues to make 'Lazuli ' and, even if their style is still so recognizable at first listen, it's good to put between your ears a new 'Lazuli' with new admirable poetic texts and this very particular style which highlights the leode of 'Claude Leonetti' bringing this bewitching side to music. So, to convince yourself of this, close your eyes and listen to the first title 'Sillonner des océans de vinyles' which, for those over fifty, brings us back to this nostalgia for these microgrooves that we played on a loop in the years 70 by discovering this new progressive music from the precursors of the genre who have now become emblematic formations: the chills are already there! So, if you're like me, continue with 'Triste Carnaval' which gives us a layer of emotion with this magnificent crescendo and then with 'Qui d'autre que l'autre' and its magnificent refined introduction which picks up momentum breadth by unrolling a very beautiful text. The sequel is in the image of this beginning with, each time, passages that hook you with for example these final choruses that we want to accompany on 'Egoïne' or this feeling of being lulled by the soft singing of 'Dominique Leonetti' in 'La lagune grise' or this poetic text on a remarkable melancholy musical theme in 'Parlons du temps' or even this instrumental power bringing an intense emotional force in 'La bétaillère' followed by this striking transition to this sensation of delicacy in the following 'Mille rêves hors de leur cage'. And to finish, what could be better than taking us into a melancholy piano/voice with 'Le grand vide' filled with a very special emotion. In summary, it's still a beautiful album that 'Lazuli' offers us and this 11th baby of the French comes to be added to the already long list of musical nuggets of their discography which show that France has many talents not necessarily known to the great public who are often taken hostage by a few majors who play the few titles they have decided to promote for purely commercial purposes on the radio...
