'The Monkey Jamboree' is the first album of the English band 'Encircled' that appears in Spotify, but it’s already their third record; they evolve in a progressive seventies rock mixing atmospheric, pop and rock. The eponymous first title makes us penetrate this opus by a muffled atmosphere with the voice sprung of 'Mark Busby Burrows'; Then follows 'Alphabetically Possible' which is lighter with its entailing and marked tempo. With 'Complexity', we return to a more intimate atmosphere that reminds me of the tormented world of 'David Bowie'. Again, new style change with 'Stereochrome' and its eighties rhythmic between 'Police' and 'Alan Parsons Project'. The following is the image of this beginning and the last title 'Chasing The Ghost' of more than 16 minutes, summarizes well the whole because it contains all the ingredients that 'Encircled' incorporates in its compositions and all ends in a few notes of piano and flute. In summary, with 'The Monkey Jamboree', 'Encircled' releases a very good album of progressive pop/rock to listen calmly with a helmet to escape for a moment of this world that is moving too fast... | |
