Guess where I'm taking you for melodic rock from the 80s. It was easy, since it's still Swedes who are honored in this country where bands of this style are springing up like mushrooms. 'Neon Sunrise' is therefore the sixth studio recording of 'Captain Black Beard' of which I had put the fifth album, 'Sonic Forces', in the playlist of melodic rock and hard-rock albums from the first half of 2020. No surprise, we sail in the footsteps of 'Foreigner', 'Journey', 'Survivor', 'Europe', 'ASIA' or even 'Toto' and all the compositions therefore take us back a few decades with unstoppable melodies that can be enjoyed with immense pleasure. Needless to make the title of the title, but listening to the addictive choruses that parade one behind the other, we say to ourselves that the Swedes must have had a terrible time extracting a few singles from all these potential hits. To get an idea, you can discover videos of those who have been selected, with 'Flamenco' (see the video above), 'Physical' (see the video here) and 'Wasted Heart' (see the video here) and if you stick with all three of these titles, chances are you'll like it all together. The only downside I would make is that they did not include ballads which would have brought additional diversity to this very beautiful opus and which could certainly have replaced the very short, rather dispensable last title of the eponymous song.
In summary, the 80s are very popular at the moment, because after 'Meridian' which released 'The Fourth Dimension' at the end of September 2022, this 'Neon Sunrise' is added to the list of albums filled with melodic hits from this era , and this will certainly not displease all fans of this style, many formations of which flourish in the four corners of the earth with a much greater density in the countries of northern Europe... | |
