At a frequency of one album every 2 years, the Americans of Edge Of Paradise' released a new studio recording in early March 2025, 'Prophecy', which follows 'Hologram' from 2023 and 'The Unknown' from 2021. After having been produced for the previous albums by the label 'Frontiers', it is now with 'Napalm Records' that their latest baby has been signed, and as for the last albums, they have did not skimp on the promotion of 'Prophecy' since these are four singles which were also released on video with 'Death Note', 'Give It To Me (Mind Assassin)', 'Prophecy Unbound' and 'Rogue (Aim for the Kill)', the visual side having been particularly worked on, the Armenian-Russian singer having produced the whole thing. Margarita is also a writer, and the theme of 'Prophecy' revolves around the dangers of artificial intelligence, urging us to free ourselves from this technology that is enslaving us. The remedy is to rebuild real social bonds to escape this digital shackles.
A short 42-minute album, the band behind 'Margarita Monet' offers us 10 new original compositions, in keeping with their previous productions. The melodic metal is resolutely modern, with the use of electronic-sounding keyboards on par with the saturated guitar riffs. This is evidenced by the first three singles I mentioned above, along with their video, which are a fine calling card for the band, with energetic songs in which 'Margarita Monet' offers magnificent performances, modulating her singing between moderate sections and others that are much more muscular, showcasing all the vocal power required for this style of music. In the same style, we cannot miss 'Rogue (Aim for the Kill)' with its sing-along chorus, 'Martyr (Monster)' with its memorable melodic lines, and 'The Other Side of Fear' has a pop side in a danceable and well-rhythmic atmosphere. Alternately, some tracks bring a certain moderation: 'Sad Life of a Rose' is a power ballad that shows a heavy and massive face with a new unstoppable chorus, 'Hear Me' is another ballad but in a much more refined register, 'Margarita Monet' raises the emotional bar in this very beautiful track, and 'Relive Again' is also a beautiful power ballad with an alternation between moderate verses and an imposing chorus.
In summary, the Americans of Edge Of Paradise have released an excellent album that demonstrates all the talent of this band to offer us modern and powerful melodic metal and which should, without a doubt, satisfy their fan base and, given the promotion of this album, make them known to a wider audience, especially since the band of 'Margarita Monet', like the whistleblowers, offers us a topical theme with a real reflection on the future of Humanity. sending a strong message not to give in to this ease offered by artificial intelligence, which risks making us lose this Humanity... | |
