In the sample of groups of symphonic metal with a new album in 2019, here is a new kid with the Portuguese of 'Glasya' who are only two years old and who release their first album 'Heaven's Demise' and already shows us an impressive maturity. From the beginning, with the title track of the album, we discover the singing of the mezzo-soprano 'Eduarda Soeiro' which makes a beautiful vocal demonstration in a title whose rythmic section looks like 'Dark Chest of Wonders' of 'Nightwish, period of 'Tarja'. The resemblance continues with the epic 'Ignis Sanctus' and grandiose choruses with changes of rhythm and power and beautiful instrumental arrangements. The suite offers us the very melodic 'Coronation of Beggar' whose chorus remains inlaid in our head, the orientalisant 'Glasya' which can be reminiscent of 'Therion', a catchy 'Eternal Winter', the beautiful ballad 'Birth of an Angel '. 'The Last Dying Sun' returns to a style close to 'Nightwish' then the epic 'Neverland' is cut into several parts with a beautiful instrumental part, and with 'No Exit from Myself', between ballad and mid-tempo, Eduarda shows one last time all his vocal talent alternating serenity and power, the album ending with the instrumental 'A Thought About You' in an imposing symphonic atmosphere with great percussion reinforcement. In summary, with this first album 'Heaven's Demise', the Portuguese of 'Glasya' show an impressive potential and, thanks to a front-woman who already has all the vocal qualities of the greatest singers of this style and with already well-honed compositions and arrangements of quality, should, if they diversify and go out of the way of the major groups of the style, to be quickly known of the international symphonic metal scene...
