Decidedly, at this time, the 80s do not stop giving wings to many Swedish formations, and, to return to the golden age of melodic rock, what could be better than to have started scratching some agreements about forty years ago. This is the case of the Swedes of 'Alicate', which was founded at the end of the 80s with only two songs, the title of the first being perhaps a little premonitory at that time since it was called 'The End' and which I found on YouTube here). Since then, they got back together in 2006 and recorded three albums, 'World Of Anger' in 2009, 'Free Falling' in 2013 and 'Unforgiven To Be Forgiven' in 2018. 2022 therefore sees a new opus see the day which offers us good varied melodic hard rock as we navigate through energetic titles like 'I Can Run', 'Rise Once Again' (see the video above), 'Let It Out' (see the video here) or even 'Out Of Control', but they also know how to modulate atmospheres with remarkable m id-tempos such as 'My Last Goodbye', 'Monday', 'We Will Get By' and 'Done For The Weekend', without forgetting the two ballads 'Butterfly' (see the video here) and 'Highway'. In short, this latest album from 'Alicate' continues to perpetuate this talent of Swedish melodists and 'Butterfly' should make happy all fans of melodic hard rock and AOR taking us back a few decades… | |
