'Demons Down' is yet another find from 'Frontiers Music' which brought together artists of different nationalities with the Chilean 'James Robledo' on vocals ('Sinner's Blood') and the Americans 'Jimi Bell' on guitar ('House Of Lords', 'Autograph'), 'Francesco Savino' also guitarist ('False Memories'), 'Chuck Wright' on bass ('Quiet Riot') and 'Ken Mary' on drums ('Fifth Angel'). With this impressive pedigree, they offer us very good hard rock that takes us back to the 80s/90s and each composition is a potential hit. First of all, these are choruses that come directly into the head with entry 'I Stand' (see the video above) which can remind some nostalgics of the 70s, a formation like 'Rainbow' with its melodic similarities and the 'Blackmorian' guitar solo (we will find this 'Deep Purple' side on the title 'Book of Love' with the guitar solo and then the final keyboard solo à la 'John Lord'). What follows is a parade of catchy choruses with, for example, the catchy 'Disappear' (see the video here), the mid-tempo 'Down in a Hole' , the hit 'Where Will Our Tears Fall?' which would have caused misfortunes in the 80s (see the video here) or even 'Follow Me' which has nothing to envy to its predecessor, until the last title 'Only the Brave' which offers a last memorable melody to sing in chorus in concert. We won't miss either 'To The Edge Of The World' in a more AOR style but also the ballad 'On My Way To You' which comes quite early in the album and I would have taken a little second of this quality at the end of the album.

In summary, even if they are not going to revolutionize the genre and we cannot help but draw a parallel with 'House Of Lords', this new project 'Demons Down' highlights artists from quality which deliver us good hard rock, taking us back to the golden age of this style with a powerful and modern sound and, just for that, thank you gentlemen for putting between our ears an album full of energy which puts you fit for the whole day...
