It’s with this last part 'SEED' of the trilogy devoted to a century of world wars that I discover the English of 'Freedom To Glide' and the first 2 albums 'Rain' and 'Fall' are available on spotify here. 'Freedom To Glide' is composed of the multi-instrumentalist and singer 'Andy Nixon' and keyboardist 'Pete Riley' who played for many years together in a band in tribute to 'Pink-Floyd', 'Dark Side of the Wall' and we obviously feel 'Floydian' influences in their compositions but, even if they borrow from different formations of progressive or neo-progressive of the 80s / 90s, they knew how to forge a particular style in a soft and peaceful atmosphere with beautiful melodies that accompany you throughout the 13 tracks. The first four titles are one : the intimate piano / voice 'Seed' serves as a sweet introduction to the melodic 'Hoding On' which follows on 'No Turning Back' which can be reminiscent of certain acoustics of 'RPWL' (see their latest album here) and after some train sounds, 'Understone of War' takes us into its symphonic atmosphere with a more electric rise to power on the end and that can recall some 'Floyds' rhythms in 'Animals'. In the ray of my favourite songs, I will remember, 'The Space Between the Lines' which, in a refined piano / voice atmosphere, takes us in its haunting melodic lines with a magnificent powerful central part (and his solo very 'Gilmourien') which falls in some piano notes on the end of the title, then 'When That Day Comes' and 'Broken Road' which summarize well this style filled with lightness and harmony of the two English. In summary, this last album of 'Freedom To Glide' is a total success that makes you want to immerse yourself in the other 2 parts and 'SEED' is recommended to a public loving soft and airy progressive and neo progressive...
