We continue in the concerts with the one that 'Alan Parsons' gave on May 5, 2019, at the 'TivoliVredenburg Concerthall' in Utrcht, the Netherlands and which is now available on CD/DVD/Blu-Ray since November 5, 2021. After a successful comeback in 2019 with 'The Secret', the Englishman having not released an album since 2004, he continues to tour regularly and this concert is a wonderful end of year gift for all those who knew the 70/80 period which saw the release of all the albums of his project 'The Alan Parsons Project' which have all become references in the field of melodic rock. So, we browse through the entire discography, from the rather unknown debut album 'Tales of Mystery and Imagination' relating to the works of Edgar Poe' to the most recent one 'The Secret' via the unmissable 'I Robot', 'Eve', 'The Turn of a Friendly Card', 'Eye in the Sky', 'Ammonia Avenue', 'Stereotomy' and 'Gaudi' and listening to these familiar tracks, we're transported back 40 years with all those memorable tunes that make us remember, not without nostalgia, all the sessions listening to our LPs worn out now by multiple playbacks on the living room turntable. The only regret I would have is that the only long track of the Englishman exceeding 10 minutes, 'The Turn of a Friendly Card', is not part of the set-list, but let's not sulk as this one is already well supplied, with of course, the icing on the cake, a flawless production, because let's not forget it, 'Alan Parsons' has recorded some of the biggest names over the years, starting with 'The Beatles' and 'Pink Floyd' ('The Dark Side Of The Moon' is still a reference album as far as recording is concerned and I used it for a long time as a test record to listen to different hifi systems). It should be noted that in addition to the concert, the last track 'The Neverending Show' is a new studio recording of which you can see the video here).
To sum up, 'Alan Parsons' is releasing a beautiful album at the end of this year that could be at the foot of the Christmas tree of many fans who knew the 70s and 80s and who have been bathed in all the mythical albums of 'The Alan Parsons Project'...
