After the Americans of 'Blue Öyster Cult' and their compatriots from 'Bon Jovi' who have just released each a new opus, we stay in the 80s with this time Hungarians who have just released their first album 'Highway to Heartbreak' after an EP 'Shine' in 2016. Certainly, no major novelties but for fans of the melodic rock of the 80s (who by the way are spoiled at the moment), you will be certainly seduced by this new formation.

'Runaway' begins in a typical 80s vibe with a catchy first melody and 'Heartbreaker' which follows is the cover of 'Pat Benatar' dating from the end of the 70s that the Americans appropriate without copying exactly the original. With, 'Bullet To My Heart', we stay immersed in the melodies of the eighties with another heady chorus that gives this strange impression of having already heard it many times (I can't put a name on it), then the semi-acoustic ballad 'Perfect Obsession' written by 'Marc Spiro' unfolds beautiful melodic lines and '2nd Hand Love', also written by Spiro, is typical of a very classic AOR but so effective. The suite continues in this atmosphere taking us back a few decades, with for example this addictive refrain of the energetic 'Shout It Out' with its choirs that we want to accompany or with the incisive 'Eye to Eye' and his remarkable guitar solo or even with the mid-tempo 'Can't Stop Lovin' You' and 'The River Is Rollin'' with harmonious melodic lines that are instantly engraved in our head.

In summary, without reinventing the wheel, the Americans of 'Stardust' are surfing in a very beautiful way on the wave of melodic rock of the 80s and this 'Highway to Heartbreak' is still to be enjoyed without moderation for all lovers of this style which had its heyday a few decades ago in a much more carefree time...
