For me, a complete artist is not confined to a single style of music but is always looking for associations to expand his musical universe and the perfect example is 'Steve Hackett' who has always been a precursor in this area and who has collaborated with many musicians and singers around the world: this live with the group 'Djabe' is another good illustration of this. The story began twenty years ago with a first invitation from Hungarians on the album 'Táncolnak A Kazlak' for the track 'Thiérachei Emlék' and the latest CD/DVD of this collaboration, 'Life Is A Journey – The Budapest Live Tapes', is from 2018. 'Live In Györ' was recorded in August 2022 in Györ, a city in northern Hungary and we offers a little less than two hours of concert mixing compositions of the two artists (3 other titles are also present from other concerts) with, in this case some titles present on the last two CDs 'Life Is A Journey: The Sardinia Tapes' and 'Life Is A Journey: Back To Sardinia' dating respectively from 2017 and 2019. We therefore find in this authentic atmosphere that only concerts can bring with of course an irreproachable production. I'm not going to launch into a long chronicle that wouldn't be of much interest and I would simply say that the two musical worlds merge perfectly and offer us the best of each: the alternation between the majestic 'The Stepple' (the trumpet is magnificent in this title) and the frenzied 'Buzzy Island' before starting the melancholic 'Lake By The Sea' is a delight and the whole set is made of these contrasts that give you goosebumps and make it , quite simply, a magical album of world music. In short, the best thing is to press the play button and listen to this very beautiful gift from the Hungarians of 'Djabe' and 'Steve Hackett', a magnificent double album which transports us to a very cozy little cloud. and, if you want even more, get the DVD/Blu-Ray so that the trip is even more beautiful because these concert sensations are even more striking with the image...
