After the super group 'Lionheart' which took us back to the 80s, it's another old timer who is releasing a new album, I named 'Ace Frehley' and for all those who experienced the beginning of hard rock in the 70s , this name must seem familiar since he was the guitarist of 'Kiss' until the beginning of the 80s then returned at the end of the 90s to definitively leave the group in 2002. At 72 years old, the man is carrying himself like a charm and offers us this '10,000 Volts' with good hard rock which takes us back a few decades (perhaps a nod to when he electrified himself with his guitar in the 70s with 'Kiss'!). With a good number of friends, he offers us 11 direct and effective compositions: in a well-defined register, we can cite the eponymous title of the album (see the video above), 'Cherry Medicine' with its unifying chorus which gives an irresistible desire to tap your feet to the rhythm of the music (see video here), then 'Fighting For Life' is a potential hit for all fans of good hard rock and 'Blinded' has nothing to envy of its predecessor. In terms of very incisive mid-tempos, we won't be able to miss 'Walking on the Moon' which could have been part of the 'Kiss' repertoire (see video here), but also 'Cosmic Heart' and its 'Black Sabbath-style riffs ' and 'Constantly Cute' which is rock straight from the seventies, without forgetting the beautiful ballad 'Back Into My Arms Again' tagged eighties and the rhythmic 'Up In The Sky' with its radiant choirs and the remarkable little guitar solo . Also note the cover 'Life Of A Stranger' of 'Nadia Farès' in a more muscular version while keeping the ballad side of the original and the album ends with the instrumental 'Stratosphere' which reminds us that Ace Frehley ' is above all a talented guitarist.

In summary, 'Ace Frehley', which will soon celebrate its 73rd birthday, continues its journey by offering us an excellent hard rock album which, over time, has become timeless, and '10,000 Volts' is to advise a public that does not follow fashions and that has been brought up on the bottles of 'Kiss', 'Van Halen', 'Black Sabbath', 'UFO', 'Deep Purple' or even 'Thin Lizzy' to name a few just mention a few that come to mind...
