I did not know the Spaniards from 'Saurom' who, however, already have a great career behind them since they have been releasing albums for more than 20 years and it is therefore with 'Música' which is already their 10th studio album and who was released in early December 2020 that I discover them. After listening for the first time, in some compositions, I have the impression of hearing a cross between the French of Tri Yann' and the Finns of 'Nightwish', 'Tri-Yann' for the good-natured and lively folk side and 'Nighwish' for the guitar riffs and the melodic side, and this from the first two tracks 'Amenecer' and 'La Hija de las Estrellas'. The set is a series of catchy titles that we immediately appropriate and whose melodic lines are all very accessible like 'Salta' with its violin which twirls like a 'Christophe Péloil' from 'Tri-Yann', 'El Queso Rodante' and its fast tempo in a happy atmosphere, 'El Lazarillo de Tormesla' and its addictive chorus or even 'Reina de mis Sueños' which brings us back again to the melodic lines of 'Nightwish', the ballads 'When Nobody See's Us' and 'Duermedela' bringing a moment of tranquility just like the mid-tempo '3,2,1… ¡La Tierra!' and the two little instrumental commas with Hispanic sounds (but how could it be otherwise!). In addition, most of the titles have been the subject of a video which are all original and here are the links:
- 'Amanecer'
- 'El Queso Rodante'
- 'El Lazarillo de Tormes'
- 'La Hija de las Estrellas'
- '3,2,1... ¡La Tierra!'
- 'Fiesta de la Cerveza'
- 'Reina de mis Sueños'
- 'La Danza de los Mundos'
- 'Música'
In summary, this latest album from the Spaniards of 'Saurom' is filled with good energy and takes us into energetic and lively folk that is tamed very easily and, if you are not disturbed by the vocals in Spanish (for me, it reinforces the festive side of the whole) and you like to mix rock and folk with heady melodic lines, 'Música' is certainly made for you... | |
