I reviewed his album 'Hunt' upon its release in 2017, and Amarok' bandleader 'Michal Wojtas', after 'The Storm' in 2019 and 'Hero' in 2021, just released a live recorded in Poznam in 2018 which contains 5 of the 9 compositions of 'Hunt'. Accompanied by 'Konrad Pajek' on guitar and backing vocals, 'Maciej Caputa' on keyboards and 'Pawel Kowalsk' on drums as well as the distinguished guest, British musician 'Colin Bass' ('Camel'), he takes us back to his atmospheric progressive universe led by aerial keyboards that take us back to the beginning of this style in the 70s, and parade 'Anonymous' and its subtle crescendo, the melodic and hovering 'Distorted Soul' with its haunting section of theremin and the haunting 'Winding Stair' with a vocal accompaniment on which we gives up completely, the album ending in apotheosis with the long development 'Hunt' and the magnificent 'Nuke' on which 'Colin Bass' lends his voice. In short, this short live from Amarok' allows you to come back to the very beautiful album that is 'Hunt' and, for those who are not yet familiar with this project, to discover a progressive musical universe to quietly enjoy the headphones on the ears... | |
