After 'Mono Inc.' (see here), I come back to their compatriots 'Lord of the Lost' who released not an album but 2 with first of all, 'Thornstar’ which is a concept album telling the story of an ancient civilization, the 'Pangaeians' (released in August) and '10 Thorns' (released in October) which includes 10 titles in acoustic of 'Thornstar '. As often in this kind of album, the packaging is very worked but in this case, they even went so far as to write a pdf file available in several languages which describes in a very detailed way the history of this European people who has lived 10,000 years ago and we can only hail this effort that is not commonplace and that allows to immerse in history here). At the musical level, 'Thornstar' is very dense since it brings together 20 compositions for almost an hour and thirty minutes and we can find a mix of metal genres ranging from gothic to melodic through industrial, symphonic, extreme and even a rather improbable mix between metal and electro (yes, yes, it exists, listen 'Abracadabra' !!). So you have to be quite open minded and love all this diversity to join 'Thornstar' especially since the length requires repeated listenings to get to assimilate the whole. And then, there is this second album which gives a very different face to the original titles and allows to hear the warm voice of 'Chris Harms' accompanied only by an acoustic guitar. In summary, even if this last album is of a great density and risks being limited to the public of warned because not necessarily accessible to the first listening, the Germans of 'Lord of the Lost' under the leadership of ' Chris Harms' released an album of a very high quality that it is at the level of the theme but also at the level of the musical contents and show once more that they know, of album after album, vary the styles without being repeated proof a fabulous talent...
