At the dawn of 2020, 2019 was full of live, so here is the list of myprogmusic chronicles of live in styles very different from each other, ranging from folk to metal through to progressive rock. To this first list, for a fortnight, will be added other live released in 2019 but which had not yet been the subject of chronicle.

Here is a group still active since they are the Americans of 'Cheap Trick' who since 2016 have released 3 albums with 'Bang, Zoom, Crazy… Hello' in 2016 , 'We're We're All Alright!' in 2017 and 'Christmas Christmas' also in 2017. This live 'Are You Ready? Live 12/31/1979' takes us back exactly 40 years back and for those who knew this era and the 'At Budakan' album released in 1978 (see here), it is a faithful testimony of the atmosphere of these concerts of 'Cheap Trick' with a sound of the end of the seventies and a set which begins on the screams of a delirious public with an extraordinary 'Hello There' taken from 'In Color' from 1979 which is now well worn by repeated listenings on my record player at the time. Note that this concert coincided with the release of 'Dream Police' in 1979 and it is for this reason that 8 of the 9 songs of this album are performed there. In short, just for the atmosphere, this live of 'Cheap Trick' is a very nice gift for the historical fans of the group and, for the others, will allow to discover or rediscover a group not necessarily well known to the general public and who keeps releasing albums with the same energy they had when they started...
