'Fractal Mirror' is a band formed in 2013 by the Dutch 'Leo Koperdraat' and the American 'Frank Urbaniak' and 'Close to Vapor' and their 4th studio album. At the first listening, I had the impression to find myself in a recording of 'Blackfield' with for example 'White Sounds' which would have had all its place in the last opus 'Blackfield - V' of 'Steven Wilson' and et ‘Aviv Geffen’ (see Here). So we embarked for almost an hour of neo-progressive with catchy melodies in soft and relaxed atmospheres influenced by the formations of the 60s/70s with obviously in mind the 'Beatles': for example, 'Silver' is very tinted Sixties pop, 'Tabula Rasa' can recall some tracks from 'Barclay James Harvest' and the last track 'The Ever Rain' brings us back to 'Blackfield' again. In short, with 'Close to Vapour', 'Fractal Mirror' released a quality album that should appeal to a wide audience loving reachable melodic pop and mild and aerian atmospheres...
