'Barock Project' is the project of an Italian band that have just released their 5th album 'Detachment', the first one has been issued in 2007. They take us into a progressive rock, quite subtle with a wide variety, bringing their transalpine personal touch. The compositions (13 for a duration of more than 70 minutes) are very elaborate and, here and there, we feel the influences of the major groups of the seventies like 'Genesis', 'Emerson Lake and Palmer' or 'Jethro Tull' or newer artists like 'Marillion' or 'Steven Wilson'. The arrangements are very finely-honed and the addition of the flute or strings brings a festive atmosphere with for example the hopping 'Happy to See You'. To summarize, 'Barock Project' release a very good album of progressive music where we find influences of major groups of this style and which should please all lovers of beautiful and accessible melodies...
