After 'Lost Souls' in 2018 (see here), the legendary 'Royal Albert Hall' will have had another magical moment in 2019 with the arrival of 'Loreena McKennitt' and the end of this year sees the release of the double CD of this concert. Surrounded by talented musicians, most of whom had participated in 'Lost Souls' but also by invited artists for the occasion like the famous flamenco guitarist 'Daniel Casare', she offers us an hour and a quarter of beautiful melodies between pop and folk in a set list where the last album is well represented with 6 titles, the rest being taken from older albums. So we find this great lady of music with timeless titles like for example 'All Soul Nights' or 'Bonny Portmore' or 'The Old Ways' all 3 taken from 'The Visit' of 1991 or the Irish ballad 'The Star Of The County Down' or the traditionals 'The Bonny Swans' and 'Santiago', but also the beautiful compositions of his latest album 'Spanish Guitars And Night Plazas' with the masterful accompaniment of 'Daniel Casare' or the melancholic 'Lost Souls' that can’t leave indifferent. In short, needless to add, simply press the play button and let yourself be carried by the sweet and aerian voice that continues to enchant us with each album release : 'Live at the Royal Albert Hall' , intended for the general public, is to consume without moderation and I will end up quoting 'Loreena McKennitt' who said, «It was a wonderful experience to perform at Royal Albert Hall, especially with the story you have there. And it was particularly gratifying to invite musicians who have already worked on the album 'Lost Souls' and who can now play in concert with us and share this wonderful moment with us. I am happy that we can preserve this for posterity »...
