'Newman' is the project of the Englishman multi-instrumentist 'Steve Newman' who already has 10 albums under his credit and more than 20 years at the service of a melodic hard called AOR. Fans will not be surprised because the style of the last album 'Aerial' continues in the same line as the previous albums : melodic titles between 4 and 5 minutes with choruses that enter immediately in your head. 'Steve Newman' has the voice that fits perfectly to his compositions and the arrangements between guitar, keyboards and drums are always very accomplished. If I had to retain only a few titles, I would say 'High Tonight' for his catchy rhythmic and 'Vertigo' for his heady refrain. In short, this 'Aerial', even if it does not bring real news, is a very accessible album and enjoyable to listen to what should be intended for a wide audience... | |
