One more for the Englishs 'Praying Mantis' who continue to release albums, the last 'Legacy' dating from 2015 (see here). 'Gravity' is therefore their 11th studio album and the band, which had not stopped seeing line up changes before 2013, has stabilized. The style is generally less energetic than in 'Legacy' but 'John Cuijpers' has found its place in singing and the vocal harmonies are still as neat. Except the first title 'Keep It Alive' which is in a hard-rock style and the powerfull 'Ghosts of the Past', we're sailing in an FM rock and in a 'Toto' or 'Asia' ambiance : 'Mantis Anthem' is the typical example with its mid-tempo which will certainly remind you of the atmosphere of the eighties. In the end, even if fans of previous albums will certainly find that this last opus lacks punch, 'Praying Mantis' offers us with 'Gravity' a quality album with accessible and melodic compositions that should fill all the lovers of a hard -rock melodic that was born at the end of the 70's...
