The Norwegians of 'Fatal Fusion' return with a third album 'Total Absence' following the lead of the 2 first records. They operate in a progressive style with strong influence for groups of the 70s and leave an important role to the melody. Past the introduction 'The Gates of Ishtar' that could be the soundtrack of a mainstream film, 'Shadow Of The King' continues in an oriental style where the guitar riffs mark the tempo in a very epic atmosphere. With 'Forgotten One', we are involved on a 70s title with a 'Kansas' taste. Finally, the 2 latest titles 'Endless Ocean Blues' and 'Total Absence', offer us nearly 30 minutes of progressive oscillating between 'Floydien' and 'Genesisien' influences. In conclusion, for all fans of progressive music of the 1970s, this 'Total Absence' should certainly take its place in the perfect music collections...
