'Sign Of The Dragonhead' is really the first ‘Leave 'Eyes' studio album with their new singer 'Elina Siirala' after the departure of 'Liv Kristine' in 2016 ('Fire In The North' was the first EP with Elina but with only a new title). So, we looked forward to this new album, especially since Liv was at the origin of the creation of the German formation. The album opens on the eponymous title of the album which reassures us on the continuity of the group in the way opened with Liv because Elina officiates in the same register and shows that she became perfectly integrated in the band; the 'made in Leave' Eyes' is always present with these catchy songs as 'Across The Sea' or 'Jomsborg' which will certainly make fury in concert and other more mid-tempo like 'Like a Mountain' or the already known 'Fires in the North'. Alexander has taken over the group, but, to my great satisfaction, continues to sprinkle without doing too much, his growls that respond to the song of Elina. Even the 2 bonus tracks 'Beowulf' and 'Winter Nights' are not below the rest. In summary, 'Leave' Eyes', even if some will regret the departure of 'Liv Kristine', continues its way in a dynamic metal mixing folk and symphonic and this 'Sign Of The Drangonhead' is for me one of the good suprises of this beginning of year 2018...
