Altantide has always been a source of inspiration for metal bands such as the symphonic metal formation 'Visions Of Atlantis'. Nico and Tristan were also interested in nautical legends and it is natural that they named their group 'Terra Atlantica'. 'A City Once Divine' is thus the first studio album of the Germans who evolve in a power metal with obvious influences of groups like 'Derdian', 'Ancient Bards' or' Dreamtale' (voir Here) to name just three. After instrumental introduction 'Whispering Waves' that augurs some epic, 'Atlantica' sets the scene with its fast tempo and imposing choruses. The sequel is in the same spirit, simple but catchy melodies from the first listening and energetic rhythms interspersed with 2 less inflamed titles, 'To The Bottom Of The Sea' and the ballad 'Shadows Of Tomorrow'. We can also note the last title 'When Walls Will Fall' of 10 minutes alternating powerful and fast parts and others quieter. In summary, with 'A City Once Divine', 'Terra Atlantica' released a first album effective and well interpreted that should appeal to all fans of power metal...
