With the debut album 'In The Heart of Scarlet Wood' from the Italians 'Shadygrove' we leave for a journey whose influences are drawn from folk bands like the formation of 'Candice Night' and 'Ritchie Blackmore', ' Blackmore's Night' (see here). Led by 'Lisy Stefanoni' who is the singer of the metal band 'Evenoire', 'Shadygrove' embarks us for 47 minutes of beautiful happy and harmonious melodies that the violinist 'Fabio Lethien Polo' calls « Celtic, ethnic and acoustic folk ». All titles are very accessible and we can quote the beautiful catchy melodies such as 'Scarlet Wood', 'My Silver Seal', 'The Port of Lisbon' or 'This Is The Night' but also more melancholic compositions where the sweet and warm Lisy's vocals are perfect for such titles as in 'Eve of Love', 'Cydonia' or 'Northern Lights'. We can note also that the set can also be compared to what 'Arjen Lucassen' has done in the 'Gentle' version of 'The Gentle Storms' (see here ). In summary, even though the members of 'Shadygrove' are from metal bands like 'Elvenking', 'Sound Storm' and 'Evenoire', we are far from saturated guitar riffs and 'In The Heart of Scarlet Wood' shows another beautiful facet of these artists for the great pleasure of fans of acoustic folk...
