After 'Real World' in 2018 (see here) and some line-up changes ('Philip Lindstrand' now replaces 'Joss Mennen' and 'Marcus Thurston' is the new lead guitarist), the English of 'Nitrate' released a new album 'Open Wide'. No surprise compared to the first opus, I could make a copy past of the first chronicle : 11 tracks, some good and accessible melodic rock, influences that come straight from the 80s, ubiquitous choirs, in short, everything is implemented to have a good time without the fuss to listen to the catchy titles and this from the first title 'You Want It, You Got It' with a simple but super effective chorus and what it follows scrolls titles as melodic than each others until the only ballad of the album 'In The Night', the album ending with a last melodic gem 'Waiting On You' with obviously the chorus that encrusts in our heads. In summary, while continuing to surf the good melodic rock of the 80s, the English 'Nitrate' continue to offer effective and accessible compositions and 'Open Wide' is to be consumed without moderation and should appeal not only to rock fans melodic but also to a much wider audience... | |
