'Hollowscene' is an Italian band that was created more than 25 years ago, and after an EP 'The Burial' in 2015 under the band name 'Banaau', they released their first studio album in 2018 under the new name of the group and they are inspired by literature with a first part that refers to the tragedy 'Coriolanus' of 'William Shakespeare' while the last 2 titles are first of all with 'The Worm' an evocation of the poem 'The Conqueror Worm’ by 'Edgar Allan Poe' and then 'The Moon Is Down' a cover of the group 'Gentle Giant's' which dates from 1971. About style, it is a mix of progressive and neo-progressive, that is-to say that we go from the 70s to the present day with a fairly strong symphonic component that makes the whole epic and to quote influences, we are between 'Genesis' and 'Marillion'. As often in this kind of music, and given the instrumental richness that is brought by 2 guitars, 2 keyboards and a flute played by 'Demetra Fogazza', the whole requires several plays to appreciate its fair value each composition. In summary, 'Hollowscene' is a very good progressive symphonic album that should satisfy all fans of this style...
