It's been a good two weeks since I last told you about a release from 'Frontiers' and so here's a new release from the Italian label with the Americans of 'Edge Of Paradise' whose two previous albums I reviewed 'Immortal Waltz' in 2015 and 'Universe' in 2019. The two mainstays of this band, singer 'Margarita Monet' and guitarist 'Dave Bates' are still loyal to the post, and it is now 'Ricky Bonazza' who officiates on bass and 'Jamie Moreno' on drums. I'll get straight to the point: out of the 10 compositions on this new opus 'The Unknown', there are about... 10 melodic bombs in a modern, melodic, and immediately catchy metal. All of this is well produced and set to be a hit on the radio with lengths between 4 and 5 minutes and 'Frontiers' presents on its you tube site no less than 4 promotional videos of the album within order of release, 'Digital Paradise', 'My Method Your Madness', 'The Unknown' and 'False Idol'. The set is divided between energetic and energetic compositions like the first three tracks 'Digital Paradise', 'My Method Your Madness' and 'Tidal Wave' and other tracks are more measured with powerful mid-tempos like 'The Unknown', 'Believe', 'One Last Time' or 'Bound The Rhythm'. As a bonus, 'My Method Your Madness' is covered in an industrial metal version. In short, as you will have understood, this new album from the Americans is a melodic metal hit machine that rides the wave of bands like Amaranthe' or 'Beyond The Black' or 'Dynazty' and of course their big brother 'Within Temptation' who also evolved with the last album 'Resist', released already more than two years ago now, towards more modern metal...
