The English of ‘Drifting Sun’ have already been around for 25 years of existence but after a long break between 1998 and 2014, they did it all over again and 'Twilight' is their 3rd album in 3 years. A concept album on the ambivalence between light and darkness declined for every occasion. From the first notes of 'Twilight', we are immersed in a classical progressive universe in the manner of groups like 'Arena' or 'IQ' where the keyboards take a preponderant place and where one is embarked in a composition with multiple rebounds. The ensemble is close to this first title, developing a progressive rock accessible and melodic with sophisticated arrangements. To sum up, 'Drifting Sun', even if they do not bring anything new to the progressive music mill, release a very good album on quiet and peaceful tempos that should please all fans of bands like among others, ‘Mostly Autumn’ (see Here), Huis (see Here) ou ‘Karnataka’ (see Here)... | |
