After the return of 'Nektar' (see here ), here is another progressive rock band, 'Progeland', which released their first album in 2014 and so, here is their 2nd opus 'Harmony of The Universe'. Much like 'Nektar', they mix classic rock components by being influenced by 70s/80s bands with progressive and neo-progressive parts. One of the strong points is undoubtedly the singing of 'Tomi Murtomäki' which has a particular tessitura with a warm and theatrical voice that can recall at times the tenor of 'Therion', 'Thomas Vikström' which is quite obvious on 'Make Me Real Again' or 'Lost' especially as the melody is closer to the symphonic side of the compositions of 'Christofer Johnsson' (see the metal opera here). The melodic lines are very accessible and recall on certain titles the Englishs of 'Uriah Heep' with sounds of the 70s with the Hammond organ as in 'Out Of The Point Of No Return' and its rhythmic close to what we could do the English but also influences that can make you think of 'Jethro Tull' as in 'Gamblin With Time' between rock and folk. In summary, the Finns of 'Progeland' confirm this talent for beautiful melodic compositions mixing classical rock, progressive 70s and symphonic rock and this 2nd album 'Harmony Of The Universe' should please all those who like to mix different styles of rock through the ages...
