After the release of 'Binary Music' from 'Palace' at the end of 2018 (see here), 'Daniel Flores' and 'Michael Palace' with the 'First Signal' project (see here) originally created by Canadian singer 'Harry Hess' (see his latest album with 'Harem Scarem' here ) and 'Dennis Ward', release a new album 'Line of Fire'. No major surprise, they offer us 11 titles of AOR (also called Rock FM), all as melodic as each other and that grab one's attention from the first listen. We sail through compositions between 3 and 4 minutes influenced by the melodic rock of the 80s with memorable choruses with for example 'A Million Miles' which can recall 'Asia' or the ballad 'Last of my Broken Heart' with tunes from 'Brian Adams' or 'Need You Know' and 'The End of the World' which both have a chorus that gives the impression of knowing them from forever. In summary, 'First of Signal', even if they do not revolutionize the genre, release an album to be enjoyed without moderation and 'Line of Fire' is to be advised to a broad audience amateur of melodic rock influenced by the 80s... | |
