After a superb 'Amber Galactic' (see here), the Swedes of 'The Night Flight Orchestra’ release just one year later, a new studio album called 'Sometimes the World Ain' t Enough '. Unsurprisingly, they surf on the wave of their previous album to re-embark in the 80s with accessible compositions to the greatest number. 'This Time' sets the scene with a energetic rhythm that could be a cross between 'Deep Purple' and 'ELO' then the following tracks unfold all the sound of the tubes of the eighties with the beginning of electronic sounds and kitch chorus as in 'Turn To Miami' or in the funky 'Paralyzed' or in the AOR 'Sometimes The World is not Enough' or the very melodic 'Lovers In The Rain' whose chorus may get into your head without letting go. But it would be reductive to limit this opus to these features because an important number of formations come to mind like 'Asia', 'Toto', 'BJH' or 'Alan Parsons Project' and we feel a real talent to reproduce in original compositions the best of the eighties. We can also note the last title of more than 9 minutes which can be a good summary of the album with a kind of patchwork of the groups mentioned above and which brings a touch of progressive in the construction. In summary, this new Swedish album from 'The Night Flight Orchestra' continues in the path traced by the previous one and is therefore to be recommended to all fans and lovers of melodic rock rooted in the 80s...
