After their last album 'Fearless', 'Jim Peterik' (still a young kid who is doing well and who will be celebrating his 70th birthday) and his band continue to perpetuate the memory of 'Survivor' with 'Pride Of Lions' and 2020 sees the release of a new baby with the sweet name of 'Lion Heart'. How good it is in this troubled period during which every human being is gradually losing his humanity to plunge back into the carefree period of the 80s with melodies that warm you by being embedded in the depths of yourself. And, even if they don't revolutionize the musical landscape, 'Lion Heart' is still an album filled with melodic jewels in a classic but hyper effective AOR. Right off the bat, with the eponymous title of the album, we find ourselves a few decades back with a chorus that was already trotting in our head at the time, then, 'We Play for Free' continues with a timeless melody and keyboards sounds from another time and 'Heart of the Warrior' drives the point home with a radiant melody. The suite is in the same style with melodies that we immediately appropriate and we alternate between catchy compositions like 'Carry Me Back' or 'Good Thing Gone' or 'Flagship' or 'You're Not A Prisoner' but also nice and much quieter breaks with 'Sleeping With a Memory' very tagged 'Foreigner' and close to 'Waiting For A Girl Like You' or the mid-tempo 'Rock & Roll Boomtown' which is certainly the most sought-after track with variations in tempos and intensity or still both magnificent ballads 'Unfinished Heart' and 'Now', this latter concluding the album in a very nice way.

In short, no surprise, this latest baby of 'Pride of Lions' continues to offer us good melodic rock that should appeal to a large audience loving compositions with very accessible melodic lines : to consume without moderation...
