'B612' is a rock opera inspired by the book 'The Little Prince' by ‘Antoine de Saint-Exupéry' and the title of course refers to the asteroid from which the Little Prince is originated. So, the compositions retrace the various episodes of the work of the French writer. We follow the hero of the story and its different encounters with, amon others, the fox, the snake or the airman. 'B612' is the first solo project of the Italian 'Riccardo Land', keyboardist of different bands ('RanestRane', 'Steve Rothery Band'). Musically, to stick to the story, Riccardo took his inspiration in a melodic progressive and neo-progressive rock and the artists who come to mind are 'Peter Gabriel', 'Genesis' or more recent 'Professor Tip Top' ( see Here) or 'Dave Kerzner' (see Here). Therefore, everything is done to slip into the wonderful story with tailor-made melodies to follow the different encounters of the Little Prince. Note that 'Riccardo' kept some of the lyrics in French for the Fox interpreted by 'Sonia Bertin' while the rest is in English. In summary, 'B612' is added to the good surprises 2017 and 'Riccardo Romano' has managed this challenge to put in music 'The Little Prince' without ever distorting the original story but on the contrary by adding a musical dimension filled with sensivity and delicacy...
