After the 2 'Aquostic' (see here) and at the same time as the release of the concert at 'Wacken' (see here ), 'Status Quo ', now without 'Rick Parfitt' (see his album here), replaced by 'Richie Malone', back to an acoustic album where they invited other artists to share the stage with them. While the 'Wacken' concert is quite standard with the electric power that we know, 'Down Down & Dignified at the Royal Albert Hall' goes even further in reinterpreting titles than the 2 'Aquostic' because each song has been rearranged especially with the use of an accordion to bring out the blues and folk side which gives another view of the standards of the 'Quo' and allows above all to hear songs that we are not used to hear in a classic set. We can quote for example 'Break the Rules' from 1974 (' album 'Quo') and its catchy rhythms, 'Rock'n'Roll' or 'All The Reasons' ballads on which 'Hannah Acor' lends her voice or the 2 tracks that bring us back to the 'Hello' era of 1973, 'A reason for Living' and 'Claudie' or 'Do not Drive My Car' far from the original version in a spirit blues / jazz. In short, even if historical fans of electric and powerful boogie-rock will certainly prefer the 'Wacken's live, this acoustic set as had already done the 2 'Aquostic' can show another facet 'Quo' just as endearing and the only regret I have is that they did not release a video in this so emblematic place...
