Metal bands often refer to novels or mythology to compose concept albums and in the case of Americans of 'Master Sword', it is the video game of 'Nintendo', 'The legend of Zelda' which inspired and released in early 2018, their first studio album 'Shadow and Steel' (for experts, 'Mastersword' is among others the name of Link's sword). The music of the game is transformed in a style mixing melodic metal, symphonic and progressive. With the first 2 titles 'Behind the Mirror' or 'Let Me Show You the Night' (video above), we discover the energetic side of the compositions with the singer 'Lily Hoy' in a very powerful rock register and a solo of unchained guitar of 'Corey Garst'. With 'Tower of Stone', the mood is calm for a more symphonic title and its epic atmosphere enhanced by the addition of choruses and 'Beneath the Skin' is much more progressive in the approach because composed of several parts with breaks moods. In summary, beyond the concept of the album, 'Master Sword' released a very good album mixing several genres that should be welcomed by all fans of metal loving bands with female singer...
