'White Chameleon' is a progressive rock band from Spain that has released 2 LPs in 2013 and 2015 (not appearing on Spotify) and it is with 'Asymmetric Man' that just released that I discover them. Their style is very influenced by the different progressive currents, from the 70s bands like 'Pink Floyd' or 'Camel', to more recent ones like 'Marillion' or 'Pendragon'. From the beginning, with 'The Eye of Tassili', we discover a rather theatrical progressive atmosphere reinforced by the characteristic voice of 'Jordi Mela' and with instrumental parts very close to the 'Floyds'. The next 2 tracks, 'Laetoli' and 'Codex Giga' of nearly 10 minutes each, take us into multi-drawer compositions with breaks in rhythm and intensity. The sequel is the image of this beginning with the instrumental 'Scipio', the epic and grandiose 'Asymmetric Man', the psychedelic 'Remembering London' with a guitar sound close to 'Gilmour' and the opus ends on the 12 minutes of 'The Scultures' which begins with more incisive guitar riffs and where we navigate between power and softness for a typical progressive title. Also note the original cover created by 'Mateo Lara' whose making is available icihere). In summary, the Spaniards of 'White Chameleon' release a quality album with all the ingredients that we want to find in progressive rock but nevertheless accessible by the greatest number...
