When I was listening to 'Pocahontas', I thought that this title was telling me something, and then I came out of my old LP and I came across this short live anthology of 'Neil Young', 'Rust Never Sleeps' (with the band 'Crazy Horse') where 'Sail Away' stood in the right place and 'Sedan Delivery' was the hard of the time. With 'Hitchhiker', 'Neil Young' continues to store his attic where he finds nuggets, some of which have never been released in studio albums and others have been re-recorded later (as' Hitchhiker’ in 'Le Noise'), but reinterpreting them in their original acoustic version accompanied only by his guitar and his harmonica. Plus, fans can listen to 2 magnificent unreleased, 'Hawaii' and 'Give Me Strength' that send us back a few decades. To sum up, even if we knew some of them, all these songs sound very special, because for me, even if Neil has subsequently added various arrangements in his songs, nothing can be as strong as these refined versions which reveal all the real authenticity of this great artist... | |
