I presented you his first album 'Life Is a Killer' in 2018 and the German 'Finally George' released his second studio recording 'Icy Skies' in early September 2021. We find this singer and multi-instrumentalist surrounded by numerous guests in 'Floydian' ambiences that we knew on the first opus and 'Todd Sucherman', the drummer of 'Styx' is still part of the band and brings an accompaniment that is always very sober and precise (you can see a recording session of 'I Adore You' above). The majority of the compositions are bathed in a melancholy that could be described as benevolent and which takes us on a very beautiful journey, with many bands coming to mind such as 'Pink Floyd' (doesn't the introduction to 'Icy Skies' remind you of a certain 'Meddle'?), 'RPWL', 'Cosmograf', 'Millenium', 'Sylvan' or even 'Mystery'. All the tracks would deserve to be detailed and I'll just mention the longest composition 'I Adore You' which puts us on a soft little cloud by making us travel back in time and return to the sounds of 'I Want You' by the 'Beatles' in a ballad that slowly unfolds melodic lines that seem familiar and to whose rhythm we completely abandon ourselves. The various guests each bring their stone to the edifice, and we can quote the beautiful interventions of 'Anne de Wolff' in the title song giving a 'Jethrotullian' side to this title or the beautiful 'Gilmourian' guitar accompaniments of 'John Engehausen' and 'Martin Scheffler' or the aerial solo of 'Ingolf Burkhardt' with his 'Bugle' in 'When Dreams Don't Die'.

In summary, this new baby of 'Finally George' is a beautiful album with an impeccable production that offers us some timeless melodies that are happily listened to and if you like the formations mentioned above, you should undoubtedly adopt 'Icy Skies' and put it in a good place in your album collection...
