After 'Tell The Truth' in 2018 and his departure from the supergroup 'Supersonic Blues Machine', 'Lance Lopez' released a new solo album in mid-July. This new baby 'Trouble Is Good' offers new compositions in the great tradition of blues/rock and, for the occasion, he has surrounded himself with many artists such as drummers 'Bobby Rondinelli' ('Rainbow', 'Black Sabath ') and 'Brian Tichy' ('Whitesnake', 'Foreigner', 'The Dead Daisies'), bassist 'Danny Miranda' ('Blue Öyster Cult') and keyboardists 'Buck Johnson' ('Aerosmith') and 'Peter Keys' ('Lynyrd Skynyrd'). No surprise with artists of this quality, the 10 compositions which are mostly quite rock, make us have a great time starting with the energetic 'Ease To Leave', followed by the single 'Jam With Me' (see the video above). In this well-tempered style, we can't miss either the heavy and rhythmic 'Wild Country' or the eponymous title with its 'Deep Purple' rhythm, but also 'Take A Swing' with its muscular riffs or even of the catchy 'Reborn'. We even have the right at the end of the album to the 'Led-Zeppelinien' 'Voyager: Sunrise, Voyager, I Am Ra' which alternates very different atmospheres bringing a touch of progressive by bringing us back a few decades and the ballad of the album 'Uncivil War' (see the video here) also shows that the American excels in these more moderate atmospheres. In short, 'Lance Lopez' offers us a very good album with, icing on the cake, distinguished guests who accompany it and who actively participate in the success of 'Trouble Is Good': it is still faultless from the part of the American which should delight all lovers of good blues / classic rock... | |
