The Americans of 'Shaman's Harvest' are now well known around the world and this new album 'Rebelator' succeeds 'Red Hand Black Deeds' already dates to 2017. So, they have taken advantage of these last five long years to concoct an opus full of good powerful and catchy hard rock with compositions offering a nice variety. From the start, the catchy riffs of 'Under Your Skin' put us in the mood with a first title with an addictive chorus, then 'Toe The Line' is not to be outdone with its marked rhythm which automatically starts the machine of stomping and with melodic lines that bring us back to the 80s with this parallel with the 'Shout' of 'Tears For Fears' but obviously more powerful. Follows 'Flatline' which continues in a more measured tempo while having strong saturated riffs, then 'Voices' (see the video above) is a heavy and powerful anthem with a chorus to be sung by an entire concert audience, atmosphere that we find also in the following title 'Wildfire'. The suite offers us 'Lilith' with its alternations of intensities and its slide guitar typical of American Southern rock, the beautiful ballad 'Mama' which allows you to catch your breath, then 'Hurricane' continues with a nice alternation of intensity between the verses and chorus which shows all the vocal talent of 'Nathan Hunt' who knows how to adapt his voice to the power deployed. The end of the album scrolls through an energetic 'Pretty People' which makes you move and which should also be a concert title, the heavy mid-tempo 'Wishing Well' which still offers us a memorable chorus and 'Bird Dog' (watch the video here) which nicely ends this beautiful opus in a powerful American rock/country atmosphere.
In summary, the Americans of 'Shaman's Harvest' release an album filled with direct and effective compositions that catch on from the first listen and 'Rebelator' should reach an audience that loves energetic hard rock with accessible melodic lines... | |
