After 'Coreleoni' and their direct and effective heavy metal in concert, here is the progressive metal of 'Teramaze' who are releasing their first live album since their debut, their first album 'Doxology' already dating from 1995. The last album I reviewed was 'Flight of the Wounded' from 2022 and, since then, they released few months ago 'Dalla Volta' continuing their close releases. They are part of the prog era of 'Dream Theater' and therefore offer us for the first time a short 47-minute set in which we find nine compositions taken from different albums starting with 'From Savior To Assasin' from the album 'Are We Soldiers' from 2019 then 'Transhumanist' from album 'Esoteric Symbolism' from 2014 and these first two tracks already show this imaginative progressive metal while keeping a fairly immediate hook thanks to accessible melodic lines. The whole is varied and almost all the albums benefit from a title, the last album not being forgotten with 'The Heist' and the album ends with the new single 'Blemish' released in October 2023 and which, on a heavy mid-tempo still shows the catchy melodic side of this formation. In short, this short concert by the Australians of 'Teramaze' provides a fairly representative sample of their discography and if you want more, the album is also available on DVD (see above an extract from the concert with 'Jackie Set ' from the album 'And the Beauty They Perceive')... | |
